Overcoming the Barriers Between You and an Online Business Club

In my last blog post I went through the 6 BIG benefits of starting an online business club. It’s an amazing opportunity that can not only add huge value to your clients, but also create a big revenue stream for you. Plus, it’s FUN!

However, there are 3 common barriers that might be holding you back from tapping into this great opportunity. In this blog post, I’ll take you through those barriers, as well as how to overcome them.

 

Firstly though, I want to highlight that whilst equipment and technology might feel like a barrier, it really shouldn’t be one! In my next blog post, I’ll take you through the very simple equipment and technology you need to get you started.

 

1 – “I don’t know how!”

 

Firstly, it’s actually not that difficult to build a business club. Secondly, if you don’t know how now, that’s something that I can help you with.

As I mentioned, in the next blog post I’ll be going over some of the equipment and technology you’ll need to get started. Then, in later blog posts, I’ll be covering tips on building your confidence and creating content, so look out for them!

 

2 – “I don’t have time!”

 

I know so many accountants and bookkeepers are working crazy long hours. That’s largely because their pricing is wrong – we need to put our pricing up. So, if you are really crazy busy, then perhaps you need to think about putting your prices up and hoping some of your clients leave, because I'm sure you've got some clients that aren't people you love to deal with: they don't value you, they don't pay you on time, you're better off without them.

And one of the things I teach when it comes to pricing is thinking like this: If you put your prices up by 20% and you lose 20% of your clients as a result (and I’ve never had anybody tell me that that’s happened in the 20 years I’ve been teaching this idea), then mathematically, your income is the same. It hasn’t made a difference to your income. BUT you’ve freed up 20% of your time! You’ve freed up one day a week to plan and build a business club.

So, time isn’t an issue because you can free up the time by changing your pricing.

And, furthermore, we all have the same amount of time in a week! It’s down to priorities: is this important enough to you? Is it important enough to do something different and build something really scalable and fun? 

 

3 – “I’m scared!”

 

The final and perhaps biggest barrier for many people is fear. That fear of the unknown and unsureness of whether you can do it or not.

The most important thing to do to overcome this fear is to build your confidence. Once you practice making videos, going live to an audience, getting to grips with the technology, and you realise how easy and fun it is, that fear’s going to get smaller and smaller.

None of us are born to speak on camera, and as an introvert, I found it scary the first time, but over time it gets easier!
